This year marks the 15th anniversary of the first edition of the children's poetry book “A Step to the Rainbow” by Ana S. Gad.

On this occasion, Ukiyoto Publishing has released the English edition of the poetry collection by Serbian author Ana Stjelja, who is internationally known by her pen name Ana S. Gad.

A Step to the Rainbow takes young readers on a magical journey filled with whimsical characters and their exciting adventures. Each poem is carefully crafted, both creatively and educationally, offering a treasure trove of colorful imagery and gentle life lessons to young readers.

One of the most notable features of Ana’s poetry is her ability to transform poetic imagery into vivid scenes that stimulate the imagination. In the poem Shipwreck readers are transported on the wings of imagination into a dream where they meet the captain of a ship facing a sea monster, only to be saved by the comforting voice of a mother. This poem not only portrays the excitement of an adventurous dream but also emphasizes the importance of parental presence.

In the poem Make a Wish, Ana invites readers to embrace the magic of dreams and the power of imagination. The images of fairies summoned from divine gardens and dreams dancing in worlds where imagination reigns are enchanting and inspiring. This poem encourages children to believe in the possibility of their dreams coming true and the importance of nurturing their creative spirits.

Throughout the collection, Ana weaves themes of friendship, resilience, and the wonders of childhood, like a vibrant magical carpet. Poems such as Peter Pan and Dream Away celebrate the joy of childhood imagination and the freedom to dream without limits. On the other hand, poems like Sad Snail and Nature It Is! explore the beauty of the natural world, offering young readers insight into the significance of nature and educating them on the importance of protecting it.

The playful tone and rhythmic flow of the poems make them engaging and accessible to children of all ages. The inclusion of riddles adds an interactive element, inviting readers to think and guess the answers, stimulating their cognitive skills. What makes this collection particularly exciting for young readers is the coloring book element, designed to spark creativity and artistic expression. The illustrations are meant to be colored in by each child, allowing them to bring the characters and scenes to life in their unique way.

“A Step to the Rainbow” is a creative poetry collection that captures the innocence, wonder, and magic of childhood. Ana’s enchanting verses are sure to captivate young readers worldwide and ignite their imaginations, making this collection a delightful addition to any child’s library.
